With your help, we can continue providing free counselling to the growing number of 13–25 year olds in and around St Albans who need a safe, confidential space to talk.
Young people are facing increasing challenges – from the lasting impact of the pandemic to ongoing financial pressures — and demand for our service is higher than ever. While we deliver up to 100 sessions each week, more young people are waiting for support than at any time before.
We must be there at this critical moment. With your support, we can expand our reach, double our provision, and help transform even more young lives.

Payroll giving
Payroll giving means we receive 20% extra from the Government when you make a regular gift through your pay.
How to donate through your pay
If you pay tax on your salary or personal pension, you can donate to Youth Talk through the PAYE scheme.
Ask your employer if they have a payroll giving scheme in place. If they do, ask them to set up your monthly gift to Youth Talk. If they don’t, ask them to set one up!
It takes one to two months before the first gift is taken from your salary.
If you change jobs and want to continue donating in your pay, just follow the same process with your new employer.
Corporate giving and partnerships
Our partnership opportunities are open to all and are mutually beneficial through sharing resources, networks and expertise.
These partnerships can take various bespoke forms, such as our Business Club, fundraising campaigns, employee engagement initiatives and can gain positive exposure in demonstrating commitment to supporting our next generation.

Legacy and in memory
A legacy gift in your will or in memory of a loved one means we can keep planning for and providing mental health support for every young person in our community who needs it, today and into the future.

How to set up your online fundraising page
Fundraising with JustGiving is easy. Simply set up your page and your sponsorship money will automatically come to Youth Talk.
Every pound you raise helps to keep our service free to any young person in and around St Albans who desperately needs someone to listen right now.
- Set up your JustGiving page
- Select your own challenge, join an event or fundraise in memory of a loved one. Select Youth Talk as your chosen charity.
- People can sponsor you securely in a few clicks
- Gift Aid from eligible taxpayers will be reclaimed for us. This means 25p more per £1 at no extra cost
- Your donations will automatically be sent to Youth Talk
- Make your page your own
- Set a target – people are more likely to give when they can see progress. Ask a friend or family member to donate first to get things started.
- Add a photo or video – pages with visuals raise more money.
- Tell your story – what you’re doing, when, where, and why it matters to you.
- Remember, every £50 funds a counselling session.
- Keep your page updated – small updates can help you exceed your target.
- Make some noise
- Don’t be shy – tell everyone what you’re doing and why, from friends and family to colleagues and local contacts.
- Use social media to spread the word and tag Youth Talk to boost your reach.
- Share your story with local groups or press, and keep posting updates to maintain momentum.
- Remind people, ask them to share, and keep the support growing.
- Say thank you!
- Always thank your sponsors for the donations and their efforts. A personal message makes all the difference.
- When you say thank you, your sponsors may mention it to others and inspire them to donate too.
Why JustGiving?
We recommend using JustGiving to set up your fundraising page – it’s quick, simple, and easy to share with friends and family.
There are lots of platforms out there, but JustGiving works best for us as a cost-effective and straightforward option.
If donors choose to add Gift Aid, we can claim extra funding from HMRC at no extra cost to them – which makes a big difference to our work.
